ECAD ( Earlsdon Community & Development ), a grass-roots organisation, was formed initially to campaign against a large and especially inappropriate development in the very centre of Earlsdon. Since then it has acted as a channel of communication between Earlsdon residents, developers, the local planning authority and the planning inspectorate. A core group meets quarterly to discuss current concerns. These meetings are open to all residents. Of recent years Earlsdon has become very attractive to developers. When necessary, ECAD mounts a challenge to any proposed development which would change the character of the district or disrupt the life of the people who live here.
